Water Wells
Shore Wells

A Shore Well is the method of withdrawing usable water from a lake, river, or pond and offers a waterfront home or business a virtually unlimited supply of fresh water.

The construction of a shore well is determined by the structure of the shoreline, equipment accessibility, the volume of water needed and the porosity of the soil around the area of construction.

Shore wells are ideal for lakeside homes, high flow requirements, irrigation systems or in places where a drilled water well is not practical.

A shore well offers a lakeside dwelling a method of withdrawing fresh water from a lake or pond. A properly installed shore well allows the water to be slowly filtered as it enteres the well basin. This filtration improves clarity and provides the ultimate defense against zebra mussels.

A shoreline well eliminates the need to install or maintain water pumps or intakes out in the lake itself, eliminating the possibility of disturbance from boaters or other potential uncontrolled disruptions. A shore well allows for year round access of the pump system while it eliminates the hazards of electric cables in the water.

AquaSource has installed dozens of shore wells in the Finger Lakes Region, is registered by the Department of Environmental Conservation as a certified water well contractor and can handle all Department of Environmental Conservation permit and inspection requirements.
